The Professional Development module of PS102 includes:
Continuing Education
Mentoring
Self-Care
Professional development is an integrative module that combines continuing education (a requirement for ongoing CBHPSS certification & licensure), mentoring support, and self-care. Individually, each promotes personal and professional awareness and helps ensure that a CBHPSS maintains current practices and skills essential to supporting others in recovery. Collectively, these aspects merge to promote professionalism and the integrity of the CBHPSS workforce. This PS102 module is designed to facilitate awareness of why continuing education is important and highlight the inevitably positive, intersectional influence of workforce mentoring and self-care throughout all dimensions of a peer specialist’s personal and professional experience, support professional development, and enhance the support we provide.
