The CBHPSS Professional Action and Advocacy Committee (CPAAC) committee which represents the CBHPSS workforce in partnership with Mrs. Mary Cafferro has drafted HB276! The bill is to award two seats on the Governing Board of Behavioral Health to be held by certified behavioral health peer support specialist. Currently all the professions that are governed by that board have a professional representative from that respective profession. Certified peers currently have none. We as people in recovery have a motto, “Nothing about us without us.”
This bill passed its first committee hearing. We will update you as we learn more.
